Joe Hart: no cap or no brain?
I could not believe it yesterday - an International goalkeeper facing a blinding low sun and not understanding until the game had started that it might be difficult for him to see the ball coming his way. Any reasonable amateur goalkeeper would have his own kit ready for all playing conditions, and not rely on there being some random cap on the coach somewhere. And he was captain for the day - what did that teach the younger players about responsibility and professionalism? That they don't matter? The performance of the senior players was summed up by Hart's attitude.

Happened to the Leeds keeper a little while back too.Caps used to be common place back in the day. It’s thanks to him we have a replay though.

What an odd thing to pick up on and criticise him over.

Im with you. a classic example of how fucking thick your average footballer is....if we had conceded a goal as he was blinded , which was fucking obvious to anyone, Im sure hed have blamed the sun and not himself

Re: Joe Hart: no cap or no brain?
Can't believe he had to get a cap from someone in the crowd. Mental.

Re: Joe Hart: no cap or no brain?
Surprised it was not a flat cap

Re: Joe Hart: no cap or no brain?
Odd thing to dedicate a whole thread to.

He probably hadn't seen exactly what the situation was like as I'm sure it was a bit different when he'd been warming up half an hour before the game- possibly at the other end of the ground.

Hart needed a cap. Hart got a cap. Hart didn't conceed a goal.

Non story.

Re: Joe Hart: no cap or no brain?
An amateur keeper doesn't get used to having a backroom staff which take care of, or should take care of his kit.

Did you see the look on Cullen's face when he was presented with a range of replacement shorts?

I'm guessing none were really in his size, and he had to make do with a near miss.

Re: Joe Hart: no cap or no brain?
He's been quoted as saying we have one (ONE) on the kit bag, but Aaron Cresswell took it home after a game and forgot to bring it back.

I hope he's just mucking about. I bet he isn't.

Re: Joe Hart: no cap or no brain?
We warmed up the end the sun was shining towards, the end we started the game at.

Chances are our unprofessional shambles didn't have a cap in the kit bag as one could have been fetched for him once he realised (about 10 seconds in) it was an issue.

But, it wasn't.

HTH

Re: Joe Hart: no cap or no brain?
Hart kept us in the game yesterday.
What i will say is that when he parries the ball he pushes it to the penalty spot rather than away from the goal.

Bigger issues at the moment. A fucking cap is the last of our worries.
